How to play
Each round shows a run of numbers with the last one missing, like 2, 5, 8, 11, ?. Work out the rule connecting them — here, "add 3" — and type the number that comes next. As soon as your answer is right, the next sequence appears. Your score is how many you solve before the timer runs out. Stuck? Tap Skip.
The kinds of patterns you'll see
- Arithmetic — a constant step, like 4, 7, 10, 13 (add 3).
- Geometric — a constant multiplier, like 3, 6, 12, 24 (double each time).
- Growing steps — the gap itself grows, like 2, 3, 5, 8, 12 (add 1, 2, 3, 4…).
- Squares and Fibonacci — 1, 4, 9, 16, 25 (the square numbers), or 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 (each is the sum of the two before it).
Higher difficulties mix in bigger numbers and the trickier growing-step and Fibonacci-style rules.

Why it's good for you
Spotting patterns in numbers is a core part of numerical reasoning — the same skill that shows up in aptitude tests, spreadsheets and everyday "what comes next" thinking. Because you have to both find the rule and compute the next term, it trains pattern recognition and mental arithmetic at the same time.

How do I know which rule a sequence uses?
Look at how each number relates to the one before it. If the gap is constant it's arithmetic; if each is a multiple of the last it's geometric; if the gaps grow it's a growing-step pattern. With practice you'll recognise the common ones instantly.
What if I can't work one out?
Tap Skip to move on without penalty. Skipped sequences don't count against your score, but they do use up time.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes. Use the on-screen number pad on a touchscreen, or your keyboard on a computer. A correct answer advances automatically.
