How to play

Hit Start. A target number appears and the reel spins through 00–99. Tap the reel — or press the space bar on a keyboard — to freeze it, and you score by how close it stops to the target. Land it exactly and you get the full 100 points; the further off, the fewer. There are ten rounds, the reel spins faster in each one, and your final score is the total out of 1000.

The reel starts from a different place every round, so you can't just count — you have to read it and time your tap.

Tips for a higher score

Why Freeze?

It's pure anticipation — the same split-second timing that catches a closing lift door or a green light. Wrapping it around a number reel makes it a quick, moreish test of reflex and nerve, and landing one dead on the target is about as satisfying as a two-second game gets.

Frequently asked questions

Is Freeze free?

Yes, completely free with no sign-up. It runs entirely in your browser and your best score is saved on your own device.

How is my score worked out?

Each round is worth up to 100 points, based on how close the reel stops to the target. Ten rounds make a total out of 1000.

Does the reel wrap around?

Yes — it runs 00 to 99 and back to 00, so 99 and 00 sit right next to each other when it comes to how close you landed.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Just tap the reel to freeze it; it's built for touch as much as for a keyboard.
