Changelog

What's new, improved, and fixed — in plain language, newest first. New calculators and meaningful accuracy changes are recorded here so you always know how current a tool is.

July 2026

  • New — Pay Off Debt vs Invest calculator. Compares putting spare cash toward debt against investing it, on the same monthly budget, by net worth over time.
  • New — Rent vs Buy calculator. Compares renting and buying by net worth — including the down payment's opportunity cost and selling costs — and finds the break-even year.
  • New — site-wide calculator search. A search box in the header (and on the homepage) finds any calculator instantly; everything runs in your browser.
  • Improved — topic hubs and navigation. Calculators are now organized into Paychecks, Home & Mortgage, Saving & Investing, and Retirement & FIRE, with clearer breadcrumbs on every page.
  • Improved — structured data. Frequently-asked-question and app markup was standardized across the site so the information search engines see always matches what's on the page.
  • New — Net Worth calculator. Tracks and projects net worth over time by source, with realistic market ups and downs instead of a misleadingly smooth line.
  • Improved — Take-Home Pay accuracy. Corrected state tax handling and the additional-Medicare threshold for more reliable estimates.
  • Fixed — content quality. Removed thin, auto-generated conversion pages in favor of fewer, genuinely useful tools.
